ON A BALCONY, PORCH OR PATIO

WAYS TO BLOCK WIND

There are plenty of options for blocking wind, but simply put, you want a barrier to stop the wind whipping around your space. We’ll look at creative ways to block wind on a balcony, porch or patio.

Room Divider

A freestanding room divider is a portable wind block solution. However, they’re often light, so they’re only suitable for blocking a light breeze.

1

Potted Plants

For best results, go with bushy plants, such as mini Cyprus trees, bamboo plants, or similar. Sparse plants really won’t do much as a balcony wind blocker.

2

Windscreen

A windscreen is specifically designed to block the wind and allow you some privacy. If you want something that simply covers the rails, this may be what you need.

3

Trellis or Lattice

Trellises are good for stopping debris from getting in your space because they can be as tall as you want.

4

Glass Walls

One of the most effective options is to install glass panels. However, it's not a renter friendly option, as they'll be permanently installed.

These solutions should help you find the right wind blocker for your needs. Want to see more options? I have plenty more for you to see.
